Hi guys! I'm writing to you from a hotel in Maryland. That's right, I'm out of town this weekend. Sorry I forgot to tell you all beforehand, I've been bad about journaling lately. Anyway, what am I doing down here? I'm visiting my mom's step-mom, my grandma C. So I'll be back on Monday, but I have internet access so I might be tuning in this weekend irregularly.

I was kind of nervous about coming to see my Grandma C. I hadn't seen her in so long, I was afraid that she would have grown frail, living in a retirement home. So I was happily relieved when she opened the door to her apartment and it was like she hadn't aged a bit! It's so nice seeing her after these past years of absence since she sold her house in 2005 and moved to the retirement home. She has all of her same sweet mannerisms that I remember her having, and even though she no longer is living in the house that I have so many memories in, she has kept most of her furniture and the remember various things that I remember like the paintings in the bathrooms and the little bicycle with the coin-wheels. Even my little purple elephant, who doesn't remember many of these things, seems to be enjoying the visit. Of course, she's also happy about getting those fabulous peacock-patterned rubber boots from Aunt L. And they are quite stylish! I myself have gotten an Urban Outfitters t-shirt I wanted from Aunt L (Sublimation - Ferris Wheel). One that I have to be careful that my little elephant doesn't steal!

Tonight it's dinner with Grandma C. and all the sisters/aunts and then tomorrow morning we drive home.
